This website and the digitised Roll of Honour were launched at a salon at Old Government House on 7 August 2014. Co-hosted by the University of Auckland Society and the University of Auckland Libraries and Learning Services, the event was attended by 60 alumni, University staff and representatives from other cultural institutions around Auckland.

University of Auckland historians Dr Maartje Abbenhuis and Dr Deborah Montgomerie and Special Collections Manager Stephen Innes took part in a moving and interesting panel discussion on the War, the College and the Roll of Honour, which was chaired by Emeritus Professor Raewyn Dalziel.
